Any theatrical lighting or mobile disco suppliers should be able to give you an offcut of filter gel ( the stuff they use for changing the colour of the spotlights ). Available in all the colours of the rainbow and makes really trendy sunvisors

You could of course paint the lens instead of the bulb. I did this using airfix clear model paint. If your going to do this I found the easiest method to be by pooring in the paint. Before doing this however I had to place a bead of sealer on the reverse side of the lens along the line shown on the pic below. Then all you do is poor in the paint and leave it to dry. Before anyone says anything this mod past an MOT so you shouldnt have any problems with respect to that. Happy bodging.
