Hi everyone, I'm new here, just picked up my 94 Surf 3.0TD on Monday and am loving it

But I have a button which I don't recognize the symbol for, the previous owner doesn't either. Can anyone give me a clue as to what it might be? I have attached a picture of it, its just next to the rear window button.

yeah mine too but going by the sticker i rekon an ejector seat? :P what happens when you press it?

Nah - fog lights switch is elsewhere, if you press it, the light comes on and you can hear a change in the engine note, kinda the same change as when you hit the aircon.

Thats where my fog light switch is - could it be you're idle up switch? but that wouldn't explain lights coming on.

Not the idle up switch - thats in the dash, I'll press it on the way home and see if anything interesting happens when I hit 88mph

It looks home made to me. Maybe a hazard switch thats been moddified or linked to a temp sensor as it looks like an ice thingy

Think I remember someone else had a switch like this a while ago, it was posted up on here but can't find it.

on my 95 ssrg. that button is where my coin holder is. there are three positions equaly spaced out. centre - coin holder , right rear window control and the left is front fog lamps. it seems to be a previous owner mod judging by the stuck on logo which when you zoom in, seems to be of a oriental face. - i'll have to stop sniffing ajax.

hmmm, if you search for switch, the earliest post is march 04. I'm pretty sure it was very early on, ie not long after this forum was set up....must have been deleted.........?

Maybe it's a complete !!!! take to confuse us foreign owners or just to scare their mates off when it was back in Japland

lol - well that explains all the little guys in white that were running around yesterday

I think I'll attempt to trace the wiring at some point this weekend and workout where that goes.
