I metered out the first wire on the connector as the illumination wire, so +ve (red)

Fourth wire along on the connector is an earth wire, so -ve (black)

Make sure you have disconnected both batteries first... don't want to short anything out.
Check out the image. See the red wire taped into the first cable out of the connector, surf side... (blue connector)

Note: White side connector is the ISO adapter to them plug the stereo in.

didnt connect my battery but i only scotch locked.

        good luck mate

Ok. standard fit in a 1991 LN130W is blue connectors... surf side
The ISO adapter that mates to these connectors splits into two black connectors.

This blue connector is the one that feeds the head unit...

New image of the blue connector.
Notice the orientation of the connector, with the key in the bottom row, first cable moving left to right and forth cable.

First cable Green based is the illumination cable (goes live wihen you turn the lights on...) Brown based cable is an earth...

Red light from inverter goes to the green cable, black to the brown...

            Hope that is clearer...
