  • Marker lights

Hi, wondered if any of you can advise. I want to put some marker lights on the roof of the surf (as american trucks have) was wondering the best way to wire them up without drilling into the bodywork. How do you guys think i should feed the wiring - through the sunroof? Should i have them on a seperate switch in the cab and wire them direct to the battery or do i go for wiring into the sidelights? if so how? Any help appreciated.

    2nd gen 2.4 surf.

    Hi m8ty.
I dont think there is any other way than to drill the roof.
How would you be able to secure them to stay in place at speed.
Also putting the wireing through the sun roof will not only look
naf but it could chaff the wires causing a short or leaking sun
    roof?
If you dont want to drill the roof may be try a roof bar to conect on to?

Either conect via a switch in the cab then via a fuse then into
a possitive feed/or via a fuse then in to the side light feed.

    Good luck Chris

I have got marker lights on my roof rack.
Just drill the holes!! After the first one it doesnt hurt anymore, my roof has had plenty of holes in it. I riveted my roof rk down for a start.
As for wiring to the roof I used 7-core trailer cable through a silicone grommet. I have a number of different lights up there.
Get the drill out and have some fun!!
