Having an intimittent problem with the above:
I usually put the widget in the hole, pull it out (there is a faint but audible "click" sound), then put in the key, turn the engine on (all the warning lights) then wait for the pre-heater light to go out and then just start the vehicle.
Recently though I go through the normal routine and when I turn the key to start the engine I get nothing - dash lights are on but no starter turning over.
If I wait long enough, it'll eventually start. If I can't wait then I just bump start it and that usually temporarily fixes the problem.
Now I thought I'd left this problem behind in the cold, damp UK, but no, it has started happening to me in hot, humid Johannesburg. What could the problem be and what happens if if happens when I'm bogged down in the middle of the bush somewhere?
Any and all advice will be appreciated. (I'll cross post this under General as well).
