  • rear window not working help!

    Hi Surfers,
Please can you help me. I have a 2.4ssr-x manual j reg jap import and the rear window has stopped working. It's not the window lock button. when i press the button or try the key i hear the relay click but the window shows no sign of moving. i've looked at the other posts and could'nt find a solution. A mechanic is going to test the motor tonight but if anyone can suggest some thing different. Please share it with me...

I've had the same problem with the Bullet for about 8 months. We've even had it apart twice and tried a new computer, tested the wiring and the switch, and at this point Tony suspects a wiring break somewhere between the key switch and computer, but locating it in the tangled mess of wiring is "challenging" to say the least.

mine did this one rainy night about 1.a.m. outside a rugbyclub whilst loading up my drum gear, it turned out to be the bottom runners full of rust and crud had jammed leading to a click sound, and nothing else, after dismantling the rear door and helping the window close it worked albeit very slowly in a stop/go kinda motion with a very hot motor. Next day, greased everything up (esp the bottom runners) now the window closes faster than ever, hope it's something simple for you.

Mine actually works fine from the button - just not the key. Although the key switch works fine, hence seems to be wiring fault.

Try rear wiper as there is a switch that tells the rear window the wiper its parked.

OK i'm about as mechanically minded as Julian Clarey so dont laugh.
I just had a problem where the moter sounded like something was happening but the window wasnt going anywhere, so i took the back off and saw that the round gold coloured round plate thing on the moter had been stuck down with silicone at some stage so i peeped inside and saw that there was a white plastic gear cog wheel that had jumped out, so stuck it back and put the lid back on with bluetack and violios bobs yer uncle. The window not working was also stopping the lock from working.
