How involved is it to remove the dash to change the face of the speedo to mph any help please

The cover for the instruments is held on by a number of lugs which come away easily enough ( a flat blade screwdriver can help).
Use a fork under the speedo needle to prise it off the shaft - its tight but it will shift. then you are pretty much there. MPH Speedo faces are readily available on ebay if you dont have one.
Be careful not to press the little microswitch opposite the trip meter reset or you will trigger the T-BELT warning light. (Easy to fix - just press it again).
You may have to fiddle with the position of the needle after you replace it to get the speed indication correct (mine ended up 15mph too slow at first). Fiddly job but reasonably straightforward. If you take the car out to check the speed with the dash still in pieces, remember to reconnect the hazard switch else you will have no indicators.
