  • 4X4 Staying Engaged

My 4x4 seems to be refusing to disengage.
on pushing the button the lights will stop flashing for a second or 2 and then start flashing again. At no time do they stay solid to indicate engaged but it feels that the vehicle is staying in 4x4.

    Any ideas?

Found a lot of info on some of the US sites... looks like it might be moisture and or dirt in the motor on the transfer case. I will strip this tonight and have a look.

        Hi
OK, Managed to get it to click out. This was done by engaging the 4x4 with the vehicle switched off and then starting it. This resulted in it locking on with an audible click. Reversed the process by disengaging with vehicle off and starting it which again caused it to click out audibly and the lights went off...
Tonight I will strip the electric motor and see if there is dirt or moisture in the motor.

          Still happening

Well looking back at the thread this issue started a while ago and is still ongoing...
Sometimes disengages easily other times not. I have bought a new front diff sensor now to see if that helps. Never easy is it.
