  • Went for another drive

After the 170 mile trip home in petrol surf I was really impressed with how smooth the thing runs.
I have to take the diesel off the road for a week or so to give it some TLC, so I took the petrol one out for fuel ready for the work run in the morning.

These things really are a hidden gem, I read Apaches threads going on about his an how much he liked it. All I can say is if you are toying with buying a surf and 2.7 petrol one comes up, they are well worth a serious look. O and the DOHC lump has steel connecting rods and a timing chain

I sometimes feel almost evangelical about it, in the face of a luddite uprising

Whats not to love? Cheaper to run? Smoother? Quieter? More powerful? Cheaper to buy - for now, til they catch on!

You got a massive bargain there!

Page won't load for me must be server issues my end.
I have seen a supercharger and ecu to match earlier on when I was forum hoping. Not for me I will just enjoy fixing it up into a good looking truck once again. I will even polish this one lol. The wheels are first on the list for a make over. Under the truck needs bits and bobs ball joints and the like, nothing major.
I am heading north to Dornoch Castle Hotel with the wife in a couple of weeks for a weekend break so that will give it a good 500 mile run out.
