  • Valve Compression Tool

Other than the stealership, anyone ever had the need to source a valve compression tool for the 2.7 petrol (3RZFE Engine)??

Cylinder 4 has lost compression and I think the gas conversion after last 5 years has burned exhaust seat, valve or both.

Could use the tried and tested extra large scewdriver balancing over engine to compress the buckets as seen on old 2.4, but afraid to mash the ally head if I slip. If I cant get the shim out to check seating then its a head off job (May be anyway regardless)

    cheers

With an overhead cam the buckets should just lift out but you will be none the wiser to how well the valve is seating. You may see some evidence of leakage of exhaust gasses through the stem seal but that's about it.

If you want to reseat the valves it's head off unfortunately.
