Common V6 problems?

Hi everyone, Im looking into getting a 4Runner V6 soon and would like to know common problems with them, so I can either check if they have been done, or if they havn't been done, do them.

The only real problem with the V6 petrol was that Toyota switched to non-asbestos head gaskets made of an inferior material. These started to go at around 60,000. Toyota did a recall and fitted better quality head gaskets.

Other than that the V6 Petrol is great, quicker, quieter and powerful than the diesels ... only downside is they are thirsty @ around 17mpg and some parts are not as readily available as for the common diesel versions.

My 3.4 V6 runs about 19-22mpg Certainly better than my old 2.0 Hilux Pickup...

If you look at his vehicle details and his signature it says 96 as in 1996
