the v6 does have the odd head problem but its easy to fix!!!!!
running it on lpg is easy and does help to make your money go further! I get about 220miles per 70ltr on lpg and i have a few small problems!
Talk to Andy connell who is on this forum if you need help with your lpg of want an lpg system installed he fixed mine and did a great job. I cant think of his forum name but search the petrol section and you should find him, that or drop me a PM and I will send you his number.
Cheers

The problem with the V6 petrol is not down to a badly designed head like on the little diesel 2.4. Rather it was down to the head gaskets having been made from a new asbestos free material that Toyota introduced at the time these trucks where manufactured and it was not suitable for the job.
A lot of the gaskets where changed under warrantee recall with an improved design. The old gaskets normally failed at around 60,000.
I believe that the manual version of the Petrol V6 is more economical than the auto.
I have now owned my Petrol V6 Surf (auto) for 2 ½ years and it has been very reliable. They are also noticeably quicker, quieter and smoother than the diesels. Just give it a try and let us know what you think.
You will be joining a very exclusive club with a Petrol V6Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL
