Right then, having had the LPG ECU remapped last week and the bottom & mid range performance improved, I'm going to "do" the air box/pipework next.
Have found this mod on the US site and am going to do something similar
    http://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/blu_intake/blu.htm

shove in a K & N drop in filter, possibly change the spark plugs for some NGK gold palladium type (allegedly they produce a more powerful spark which works better with LPG)

and then maybe try Joey's Air box mod after that.
    http://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/...irbox/joey.htm

Apart from spending vast quantities of hard earned on a K & N induction kit I think this is the way to go.
    NO WORRIES!

Oh you Petrol heads you. Whats the betting you take it up Santa Pod soon running 14s.

Still everyone seems to like Joey's airbox mod and also in my opinion I would always go for the best NGK plugs I could get, they do make a big difference - always used to run them on my Mini with a 998 Stage 3 big valve head engine in it.

      Cheers

Any one know the output from the V6 petrol engine, in HP and Lb/sqft?

An induction kit must sound great, what type fits?

              BHP is 141
an induction kit will make a lot of noise (and they're expensive)

Have a look at this - I'm in the throws of building this for my 'runner

                150hp @ 4800 and 180lbft @ 3400rpm

K&N do induction kits, but they are VERY spendy! I got one for a 2.4EFI TD cheap and made it fit, they share the same airflow meter housing and made some mounting brakets.

Best bang for your bucks is definatly a drilled airbox, then make a smooth intake pipe from PVC tube instead of the odd shaped Toy one.

The K&N is OK, no noticeable difference under 3000, but over that, it seems to work nice. Did notice a lack of low end torque when towing though, but once in the power band it pulled hard. Popular rumour in most performance car mags says a drilled airbox give the same advantages as the K&N, but obviously much cheaper. To make the most of intake upgrades, exhaust and ECU mods are needed.

Having "de Cat'd" my 'runner I definately won't be putting a K&N on it, it's noisy enough now

instaed of drilling the airbox... why not stick a um... think it was a "deck plate"??

basically it's part from a boat that you can remove (leaving a hole) and when you wanna go through water you pop it back in and it has a watertight seal!...
trouble with drilling is that it's irreversible.
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

Trouble is the airbox is round, deck plates are flat!
