    Hi Guys

I did complete service in my baby 3RZ AUTO and am getting 18/19mpg and using 10-40W mineral oil. the vehicle is great and take off is cool thats why it drinks.
After talking to mechanics, they advice to use semi synthetic oil.
    My Q is it Ok

    THANKS

Semi or fully synth are both OK. I use the Duckhams semi myself.

If you want to use a good oil use a good filter, do yourself a favour and get a TRD (Toyota Racing Development) filter for the 3RZE engine. Makes a whole world of difference, keeps the oil cleaner for a whole lot longer cos it filters finer particles.

You can pick them up on flea bay, just search oil filter and engine code.... they aint cheap though, expect to pay £20 -25 cos they're imported from Asia

        Thanks Scuddy

Do you think full synthetic oil would make any difference compared with semi synthetic in teams of fuel economy.

        Cheers

As Marky says the only difference you will see is in the pocket from paying out more on the fully synthetic...but it may help the engine last longer.
I have tried them all mineral..semi..full. No real noticeable difference..face it mate the petrol engine is a guzzler unless you drive it like Miss Daisy.

Only slight difference I saw in fuel economy was when the OEM exhaust holed and I decided to get larger bore cat back stainless system installed...but even that was fairly minor.

You can go on and on with fuel economy ...high flow air filters..iridium tipped plugs...specialist tuning...depends on the depth of your pocket...but if its real economy you want try a 1 litre citroen C1...you aint gonna get it with a petrol surf.

              Hi,

I got improvement in economy after increasing tire pressure from recommended 28 to 32 even though vehicle became little harsh.

              Thanks

                Hi

Have been driving a 2.7 for about 4yrs now and have always got about 20mpg, irrespective of whether its urabn or motorway driving.

                I use semi synth oil.
