  • Rear section Exhaust

    Hi guys,

I have a '94 4runner v6 (VZN130) that's just failed it's MOT to the tune of nearly £700 (yup, you heard right!) and I'm having major snags getting hold of a rear section exhaust for it. Toyota, gawd bless 'em, want £300 for the privilege of supplying me the affor mentioned item and they're the only ones that I can find who can supply one. Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve as to where I can get one rather than visit 'Toyota Towers'??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Garry

    Try Roughtrax or Milners

I know of at least one other person on here who had exhaust problems on a V6 and Roughtrax sorted them out no worries.

Hi mate, the other option is go for a stainless steel exhaust, mine was 360 from the cat back. Its a great system and sounds amazing!

That thought did cross my mind, but having already spent a small fortune on a gas conversion one is on a budget if you know what I mean? Ta for the advice tho.

not sure if anyone knows but is the rear box needed on the v6,as you dont really need it on the disiel so i was thinking (i know and it hurts to think) if you could get a piece of exhaust from a transit and do away with the back box and just put a piece of pipe from the transit on instead.

I think you'd have to try it and just see if it passed - they have some noise meter presumably. The V6 is certainly generally quieter than my 2.4 used to be, but it can get a bit rowdy when you put your foot down (most of that noise on the 2.4 is the viscous fan....)
