Rover V8 into a 4 runner

Can someone give me the lowdown. People keep telling me to do it but how easy is it. Is it just a conversion plate on the gearbox or is ther more to it. Welding etc

V8 Surf

Hi,
i have a v8 in my surf and there are some other things to consider , firstly you need the shorter pulley assembly of the p6 or mgt engine ,your truck needs to be manual as no one manufactures the bellhousing kits for the auto, the sump and oil pick up pipe need to be cut and welded to clear the front axle and various brackets need to be made for th air-con compressor if you have it . another good swop is the rad , use a hi-lux pick-up petrol one with a cap and do away with the header tank.
