Automatic Gearbox oil

Hi,

Have looked at the service thread which indicates that:

Automatic Gearbox......Up to 4.5L Dexron II ATF fluid.

should be used.

However, should I use something different if I run a 3g Surf with a

3RX-FE engine. (2.7 petrol).

according to my manual for US 4runners, you have a A340H and 2nd will have A340E or A340F, so seeing that they are the same series of 'boxes, it should be the same. The book only mentions Dexron II or better.

As long as the Surf have the same autoboxes

I assume the numbers refer to the transmission box?

They are autobox types, I understood the t/case on autos is part of the autobox so may not have different numbers.

My stuff is a little vauge after 96' so double check everything.
