  • Lexurf diagnostic port

As vince seems to be no more than a name at the moment, can any lexurf owners tell me where the diagnostics port is on the surfs, need to check if its throwing any codes back.

    thanks

p.s. does anybody know how to contact vince, he doesn't answer the phone or responds to voicemails
    Yes it's a V8, don't you know I'm loco?

Diagnosis port is on LH side of engine IIRC. I handed you one of vince's cards with his mobile number on it, don't tell me you filed it somewhere safe 😂

That said I think Vince relocated them in some of his builds to reduce cable clutter...

As said look at front left of engine (or right hand if you stand looking into it from the front and there is a black box labelled diagnostics

unless he wired it into the head up display i dont think you will get any 'codes' as this OBDI which is the engine light flashing in a sequence to give you codes to tell you what is wrong. if you get that far you need the FSm to tell you what the series of flashes mean!

i have attached how to test the lamba sensor using the multimeter

if you get a reading of 0v then they arent connected or they are damaged. make sure they are wired in also before you try. you are after a reading of anything between 0.1 and 1v like it says 0.5v is a little rich think 0.3-0.5 is good.

Wow, I'm terrible at anything electric, but I'll have a go, will this systems u describe tell me if the engine is in limp mode? Or will the fact it's running rich prove that already?

to test if he has wired it in to the head up display and OBDI is working follow the attached all you need is a wire to go from one terminal to the other keep it in there and look at the dash. if the engine light flashes in sequence like the attached then OBDI works and i can then post the codes if not you dont have OBDI only resistance and volt readings to go off.

if you look at the attached you will see what wires to connect a universal Lambda sensor to the toyota wiring for the Lambda as i dont know what Lambda sensor he has put on if there is one there.

also the wiring isnt copper so you cant solder it you have to crimp connectors on!
