There are some Chinese Walbro copies knocking about, they even have the W stamped on them to make them seem genuine and it seems some retailers are innocently selling the.
I cut an access panel in the floor under the rear seat now with a sealable cover incase of any pump problems

No cut out under rear seat for access panel to fuel tank/pump. Told me as mine looked a genuine pump thought it didn’t need doing!
So the genuine pumps could never fail then!

The outcome is I've got a truck that needs a lot doing to it to sort out the jobs that haven't been finished or done to a satisfactory standard.

I forgot to put the following on the list of problems/issues:-
One of the air horn trumpets behind the bumper was damaged,
The filler pipe neck not finished off-needs extending obviously because of the bodylift,
              Steering damper not re-fitted,
The spotlights that were working at drop-off were not wired back in after collection.
I suppose the amount of things wrong had puddled my mind.

Anyway Vince-I'm sure you're logging in and perusing from time to time,
Why don't you stop hiding away and being rather childish and try to make amends-talking to people costs nothing!

Unintentionally or Intentionally you have been short changed/ripped off. You need to document all your findings and pursue down the relevant channels.

Document everything, a verbal contract existed between the two of you and it was not forfuilled.

Regardless of what problems anyone has this isn excuse for taking your money and providing you with a deathtrap on wheels!

Going to the small claims court route is a simple enough process and with all the documentation is a straight forward process.

At the end of the day you paid a service/products in good faith and they have not been supplied in a satisfactory condition. Who's to say the rest of the work you think is ok actually has been completed to a satisfactory road legal standard?

Maybe so to a Vosa centre or have MOT'd or have an independent motor engineer give you an inspected report?

You are entitled to a refund or to be compensated, let a court decide!

That was interesting reading. Much appreciated. Thanks.

Well, latest news, Vince has agreed to recompense me, to put right the exhaust, paintwork and for another bonnet.

Thought it was too good to be true.
Vince agreed to pay an amount I asked for, and to pay in installments.
I agreed to this. First installment 28th Feb! No payment yet. No contact from Vince-nothing ( he's been posting on the HPOC site funnily enough) I've emailed him outlining that I will be getting an inspection done and going down the small claims route-no response again.
This is a person whom I now do not trust as he obviously does not care about the standard of work he hands back, does not bother about keeping customers upto date, and when he does reply it's obviously just to fob you off and get you off his back. When, if he had done a quality job then none of this would of started.

You don't seem to be left with much option. You have been more lenient than I would have been. I would proceed with this straight away, the longer you leave it the harder it will be to recall all the facts.

Like I said before get it Vosa inspected and all the costs/out of pocket expenses you occur claim back.

Recalling the facts is no problem - everything documented, Forum correspondence, emails, pictures etc.
