That's good, as I like where it's sitting

I'll lift it back out, shortly, grind the RH head so I can centre the engine perfectly, and crack on with the mounts

I've yet to get the manual adapter plate so I can't have the tranny in, yet. So it's all theoretical measurements.

Ive got about the same on the steering arm, plenty off room behind the rad too cos my bottom rad hose runs up the back of the rad

How much clearance are people aiming for between the sump and steering relay arm?

    I've got 20mm and it's looking good.

Also, the clearance for radiator looks good. When its in place (radiator) there's 20mm from the old fan pulley centre but about 50mm+ everywhere else.

Chopped the heat guard screw off the driver's side to try and get the block as central as possible.

Vince, did you ever buy that lovely pair of headers off eBay? There on my list but I'm worried about their quality. If they're thin walled they won't last 5 minutes.

But the stock headers are just horrible

Yeh, yeh...ok Switch, sensor...meh! You knew what I meant.

I'm going to start being pedantic with you from now on

BTW, ratchet nearest the handle. Took all of 10 seconds!

    Thank you

Reading back...the manual does mention them...but calls them "pawls". Must be an Americanism? Never heard them called that. No wonder I missed it. ####ing pawls, man

Thats because it's a switch not a sensor.

Sensor was removed (didn't word that well in the above post) but I'll do the ratchets now. I did fiddle with them. But now I know it's them I'll properly fiddle

Saved me cutting the cable in a rage

Remove the switch, (12mm spanner/socket) then pull back the ratchet catches at the top of the shaft and hold them back, then the handbrake handle can be pushed down another 20ish mm to expose the end of the cable.

How the #### do I release the cable from the handbrake shaft?

Mine doesn't pop out enough to allow me to release it. And it's not the sensor getting in the way. So frustrating as it should be a 2 min job.

I've referred to the manual and that confirms it should stick out a bit further than mine does. It should come out without doing anything to the lever (other than remove the sensor). But I've gone on and dismantled the whole lot and it just won't push in any further (so the end sticks out a few more mm) . Nothing is catching, either.

    WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a magic password or something?

Well I haven't had a close look yet. Simple question. That's all.

Just wondered if it altered the tension or similar.
