What's a fair price for one?

Cheapest I've seen them is £280.

If you know someone in the U.S. that doesn't mind posting one to you, have a look on the U.S. eBay for Mustang or SVT superchargers, there's usually quite a few for sale for about $300 including the throttle body and bypass valves and are in much better condition. All the ones I've seen on there won't ship overseas.
Had my eye on this one, but can't afford it just yet.

I'm not buying just now; merely hypothesising

PS on the "won't ship to UK" thing, there are quite a few reshipping sites now which I am told are reliable and pretty cheap too... http://www.reship.com/?gclid=CKDAuJayx7ACFQwjfAodBi0lZA first one I came to on google, but there are loads out there...

            Nope.
Lots of bits missing plus the back end looks like it'll touch the bulkhead.

Remember, I'm currently homeless and I really need to prioritise, so fitting a supercharger to IVy is quite far down the list. But, there's no harm in looking

                That'll explain the cheapness...

Fair enough. But once you fit the supercharger you will almost certainly be able to travel back in time, and so buy lots of tech shares twenty years ago and sell them ten years ago!!!
