v8 question

which vehicle is best to fit a lexus v8 on?
a surf 2.4,
a surf 3 v6,
or 4 runner 3 v6?
i can put my hands on any of these, so im not sure witch one should i get.
is the brakes, diffs, stronger on the v6 than the 2.4?
can you tell me what you think?

Why would you go to the trouble of finding a petrol engined Surf if you are going to swap the engine out?

i wasn't looking for them, they got offered to me, what i don know is if the petrol ones are mechanically ready to accept the lexus engine than the diesel, i know got the advantage of the fuel tank don't need to be modified on the petrol ones.

Nope, all the same, but 91-on Surfs (any Surf) have bigger front discs than old pre-facelift/EFI trucks.

A broken down 2.4 is probably cheaper to buy than anything else.

I think there are some parts of a V6 that can be used for the V8 conversion. Between a Surf and a 4Runner shouldn't matter, get whichever is less rusty. I don't think the Lexus engine works with a manual Runner by the way.

from the engine side should i get engine obviously, wiring loom, what else??

engine and all the bits attached to it by wires!, bell housing, gearbox, all engine and gearbox loom (lexus is automatic?) and as much spare wire as you can get, depends if you go for lexus dash or use the surf's one and all the wiring associated with that out the lexus! depending on what reg the surf is you may need the CATS. keep the lexus battery if its a new one? all the engine fueses as well, just saves buying them.
