Although I have great admiration for those who can prize a large petrol engine into a snail of a truck and make it look great as well I cannot see me having the resources to have a truck done and even more afford to run it. Which got me to thinking, what's the biggest/most powerful diesel engine you could fit into a surf ?

I know that putting a 4.2 in may not be good for best MPG, but does the 3.0 do a bit better than the 2.4? ( i know there must be a MPG post). So going to a 3.5 may be slightly better.Originally posted by gary-r View Postits a bit pointless
a bigger diesel will be no more economical
I LIKE PETROL -
All the best

The reality is that fuel savings are never going to make up for the real cost of an engine transplant, whether diesel or petrol. So by all means stick a new lump in, but not for mpg...Originally posted by frontman View PostI know that putting a 4.2 in may not be good for best MPG, but does the 3.0 do a bit better than the 2.4?
