LS400 autobox oil volume

Hey up Vince, (or any other lex' guru)

Is the capacity of the auto'box really 8qts, i.e. around 7.5 litres?

If it's bone dry (empty torque converter as well), yes.

the FSM says 2 litres but i put that in and wasnt enough so i just filled it till it showed on the dip stick between low and high on cool (engine running of course) i think i must have put about 7 litres in but i do have a cooler as well so that does take a bit more

Yea, thought I'd read 2l somewheres..then found the 8qts. It is dry (apart from the 2l i put in), but there's probably a bit in the TC. Halfords again then..
