  • Aye, nice one mate.

Not a job I fancy doing again tbh, especially with those chemical fumes the dye gave off whilst spraying.

On the positive side, everytime I open the door now there's a nice 'new car' smell.

To be honest, I can't remember.

Was there a waterpump in your parts shopping list?

            • Can't remember myself although I never did ask you what was replaced lol.

I'm sorting out a few issues at the moment with one of them being a coolant leak from the front somewhere.

Usual suspect is the small hose under the thermostat housing.

Remove the plastic plug leads covers, including the centre piece with the TRD sticker on, and you'll see the small diametre (10mm) coolant hose I mean.
It's comes from the side of the thermostat housing, it originally went to the LS400's presurised expansion tank.

                • You can see the spouts on the 'stat housing in the 2nd and 3rd photos on page one of this thread.
There's another one that points towards the centre of the engine, but this one never gives any trouble as it can't go anywhere.

                  • I know it's not any of the hoses because I've now changed most of them. Over this last year I've had coolant leak from everywhere it possibly can. At the moment wherever it's coming from, it finds it's way onto the AC comp and drips off it. I thought it might be the water pump but I had a look into the valley and there is some coolant in there too which runs and drips off the bellhousing. I was thinking it might be the water bridge seal and its only happening when it's up to temperature. No sign of the leak when it's idling, but take it for a spin and there will be coolant. It keeps sucking the overflow tank dry but its definitely not a hose. Last week the hose on the bottom nearside split (runs from the drain tap) and coolant was jetting out onto the exhaust manifold. I thought for a second it was on fire lol. That was a ss braided hose too.

                    • Vince, off the top of your head, do you know what size of JIC fittings it is on the remote oil filter kit/hoses I have?

Is the PAS reservoir mounted directly to the pump on Pre VVTi then?

Yes, at the base of the reservoir there's a spout that goes into the top of the pump through an 'O' ring seal.
The reservoir is held in postion by two bolts.
