'Smiffie' actually emailed me the pic, that's why i asked as it seems more central than rear. In that case is it a specific model of Soarer with the rear panned sump d'ya think..
Ill go have a sniff round on Lextreme, see what i dig up
Gone off 'smiffie' don't think ill be spending money with him (even tho it means im going to struggle sourcing the bits)
Initially the sump was £120+£20Post..did some research to make sure it's the right one (which it is, the mid-sump has a more hexagonal oil pan as opposed the more rectangular of the rear and fronts) and now it's £150+P
The oil filter housing was the icing on the cake..i got one off him, probably before Xmas for £40posted and it's been chucked out..not by me might I add.! Anyways, now he wants £70+P What the hell
I know taking the sump off is effectively assigning that motor to the parts bin, which he was quick to point out. I offered to exchange with my sump, i know it would be no use for a Soarer, but at least it would still be saleable for a truck, kitcar..whatever. He just ignored that whole section of the conversation..boooo
He's a businessman and he probably comes here (if he's tracking his URL) so will know what parts are needed and what ones aren't. He'll adjust his prices accordingly, we all would.
I emailed Smiffie yesterday enquiring about the oil filter bracket needed on the V8 conversion list.
Unfortunately he couldn't help out.
What does SAS mean? (not the Grey Beret type)
Well there's one there for you now mate, cos I ain't paying £70 for it.!
And i know what you're saying Al' , I even understand his point that its a saleable engine (which he values at £500) he'd be pulling the parts from, but the fact he ignored my offer to return my bits to keep it saleable also rings alarm bells.
Anyways, no point moaning, it is what it is. If i get desperate i'll have to stump the cash.
GBV2 - an other alternative is to use an oil filter re-location kit like Vince has. You can run a better oil cooler by doing this. My engine has the factory oil cooler connected to the cooling system so i was going to use the Soarer bracket for ease..or just being lazy

Thanks for the info mate. Mr Bushwhacker is doing the conversion so I'll chat with him. "I Know Nothing"

Gary, I'm looking into getting some CNC aluminium remote filter adapters made especially for these conversions, probably work out at around £65 each, thats including the filter.
I'll keep you posted on progress.

Nice one mate! You can definitely count me in. I'll hold off then on the Soarer bracket?
Picked up a nice SPA Dual Gauge (water temp & oil pressure) on eBay for £40!
I know it's not on the list but I see you recommend aux gauges on the other builds so thought I should snap it up.
I think SPA have a bit of a sale on. £146 odds brand new for the same dial & sensors delivered. Still big bucks though.
I hope it wasn't you who sold me it lol.
