help what do i need for v8

help what do i need from a 3.9 range rover to but in a surf had a look the site cant find list can any body help need all the bits before its scraped

You won't be able to keep the auto unless you make your own bellhousing and work out how to make the ECU think the surf motor is still attatched.

Rover V8 to Toy 5 speeds are eaily available, then its no different to fitting one in a pickup as you don't need any of the ECU stuff.

To be honest, there is very little point fitting a Rover anymore, now everything you need to fit a Lexus V8 has been covered here, and you get to keep the Automatic.

thanks for reply v8 rover engine is easy to get for me brother breaks them so easy to get free for me!! you say you dont need ecu thought you did as its 3.9 injected glad im asking questions now so i dont get stuck later

How about a rover sd1 3.5 v8.They are a good solid engine and with a bit of modification to the bell housing will fit onto the 5 speed hilux g/box.I have this same set up in lucifer and thats turning 44" tyres and sounds awesome

yer that sort of thing ive allready got a pajero on 44" 01 rebel (big orange thing) want to build a new project ie this surf but its got to be bigger!!!

yeah, if your using injection you'll need the Rover ECU, I've always used carbs on Rovers, so didn't really think about, was really meaning you won't have Surf ECU issues if you don't use the autobox, which shares the engine ECU.
