Suffered the nightmare of a burst radiator on Wednesday. Got to work and saw clouds of steam coming out- a jet of coolant was litterally p*ss*ng into the engine fan from a big hole inside the engine bay. Luckily I think it had only just happened and no damage the block was done. Temp needle had not moved from it's usual middle position. The car was undrivable as the hole was too big to hold any water.
Got a recon/exchange rad from Roughtrax delivered 9:00 am next day (£199+VAT -great service chaps!) and had it fitted within a few hours.
Looks like a stone or some other object had flicked up off the fan and punched a hole in the rad. Offroading debris of some kind on the bash plate?
