Not a chance, try a search on the forum as this topic has been discussed several times.

Think you need a Landcruiser Amazon or a Nissan Patrol for that. Both of them have a 3500lb towing limit however I have heard of them towing over 8000lbs.

The Surf would probably pull the 7000lbs but because it is not really heavy enough for that weight it would be a real handful to tow at anything over walking pace.

      Cheers

LC and Patrols can tow 3500kgs yes but i think the LC engines are rated to around 6000kgs on private land without any problems.

                    conversion of weight

                    7000Lbs equates to 3.175 Tonnes

A Landrover can tow 4 Tonnes legally - hope this helps....probably not though !

                      Surfs are approx 4000lbs or 2 metric tonne (2000lbs = 1 tonne)..

Land Crusier Amazon,Isuzu Rodeo [new pickup] and the New Patrolare vehicles I know of that can pull 3500kg >7000lbs]...which I believe is the max legal limit for cars?

As much as I hate to admit it, a Discovery can tow 3.5 tonnes as standard and 7.5 tonnes with a slave brake system fitted. Looked in to it years ago when I was a disco owner.
Not sure I would like to try it though!

Towing rule of thumb for any vehicle is 85% of it's kerbside weight, maybe an exception with some of the heavier 4 x 4's. If new to towing I'd stick to it, more experienced can tow higher ratios to kerb weight but not recommended.
