  • Issue with rev counter -

    All,

My 96' SSRG has developed a fault with the rev counter starting to intermittently stop working, its fine for a while then stops all movement and drops to zero revs. Has something worked loose or got corroded?

Any help appreciated as it's really off-putting!

I had the same thing, swapped it out for another one from a breaker.

It's a dry joint somewhere, if you have the time and patience to wield the old soldering iron. I am sure there is another thread/post about the same thing somewhere on here.

That's what I was thinking but would it be an MOT failure? Luckily, mines just passed (with no advisories) a month or so ago!

My friend fixed mine by resoldering a broken joint. He couldn't find -anything- about it until he started searching for specific part numbers, then he found this: https://www.drive2.ru/l/6562747/
