Gen 3 intercooler options

Thinking about intercooling my Gen3 as I see it the options are

1 Factory top mount but not easy to get hold of and bonnet mods required

2 front mount but the plumbing looks like a complete nightmare as there dosn't seem to be any room for the pipework

3 Air to water easy to fit but would it need a little rad and water pump of its own? If it ever leaked internally would it trash the engine before I realised what had happened?

My choice would be Water to Air. Yes it could trash the engine if you buy a cheap one. Cheap ones are usually an air to air encased in a box, but the good barrel ones should not be a problem.

Thanks I will look into it, is it just a case of what size will fit? the bigger the better obviously.
