  • 3rd gen rear window

    Merry Christmas to you all
I noticed my rear window was all the way down , thought someone had smashed it and broken in , when I checked I noticed the glass all intact , but problem is I can't get window to go back up , when I press the switch I hear a click , also rear wiper doesn't work now either , what would cause my window to fully open its self , and how can I get my window back up , can anyone please help many thanks

Thanks for reply , my surf is 3rd gen so no key in back door , I notice that it seems to be draining my battery , what would cause the window to go down on its own during the night

        mines 3rd gen as well
the keyhole for the window is
        in the numberplate light cover
        easy missed
you have to hold it turned for it to work
turn to right for up an left for down

Where is the fuse location for the rear window defogger , if that's not working would that effect the window from working

If it's similar to the 2nd gen, it might be the rubber drive disc. Have a look at the write up at http://daemon4x4.org/portal/articles.php?rid=0

Still no luck , when I press the rear window button on the dash up it makes a click sound , when I press down there is no noise , also when i press my rear defogger it doesn't light up but I can't seem to find a blown fuse , very frustrating , even if I could just close my window it wouldn't bother me if it didn't work after that at least the surf will be secure

sounds like one of the other guys said motor naffed
you will have to lift back door take off cover
and you should be able to get the window up
takes a bit of doing but it can be done
then you can take the motor off and fix it
at least you dont have to climb into the back
to do it on the 3rd gen but prop the door up
it dont stay that well with the window down
