  • Difficult start-up

Hi all, I've got a problem!! White smoke on start up and struggling to start ever so slightly. It's fine once running but worrying all the same. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

trouble starting and white smoke (unburnt fuel) would possibly suggest glow plugs

i would have thought more black smoke
      if plugs naffed
white and trouble starting would to me
      be air in system
      the old git

Can I test the plugs in situ? On the facebook page plugs were suggested too. Air in the system I'd know nothing about...

You can, but have isolate each one so almost as much work as replacing them. Resistance should be less than 1 Ohm.

          Nev.

I had exactly the same problem earlier on in the year which got progressively worse as each glow plug failed until I needed to replace all 4, after which no starting problems, though I have been told that even new glow plugs have been known to fail quite quickly.

Had the same fault and replaced all my glow plugs which cured it
