    Spill Valve relay

Having cleaned the contacts, retested and replaced it I tried to start it last night, but it was hesitant and the battery drained out. So, battery is on charge and i will try again today.

My concern now is that I have burnt out the solenoid on the SPV, (by putting 12V to it), although the resistance test on the SPV contacts gave a reading of 2.1 ohms which is in tolerance I think.

Anyway I will try again today.
IF I recall correctly on my 3Ltr 2nd generation, I had problems finding the spill valve relay, could you assist me in locating it please.

    Many thanks

      I'll try, mine is RHD, 1996 3rd Gen. KZN185.
The SPV relay is located behind and to the left of the passenger glove compartment.
For me, it was necessary to remove the glove compartment, and the fan/ac duct straight section. On the left is an elbow piece of ducting, which needed to be pulled to one side. The SPV relay is on the left (you need a torch), it looks like a small black matchbox. It is rather buried in there.

I recommend that you test it for continuity (with a multimeter) during operation.

Can't see a Spill Relay in the EPC for the second generation, but there is a Main Relay for them in the drivers side fuse box. Part number 85915-30050. May do the same as the third generation, but not listed as a Spill Relay.

        Nev.
