  • Loss of turbo pressure

On Monday, I pulled out at a junction, I heard a small click noise and had no acceleration out from the junction.

The gear change times were off, the revs were higher than normal.

I can't see any hose issues and I notice a very slight click (or clank) noise when I first pull off from cold. There does seem to be some pressure but that could be just psychological. I can drive ok but there's obviously something wrong.

For the past few months, I've also been laying down a good black smoke screen from the exhaust. I would welcome ideas on that too, I suspect EGR.

    Any ideas welcome.

don't tell me these surfs have a safe mode in the gearbox..

hate my expensive merc for that reason.

is it a consistent power loss?

It's not limp mode, it drives ok-ish but there's a clack-clack as soon as I hit the throttle.

Anyone know how much of a pig is it to change the turbo?

You could blank off the ERG and see if that makes a difference.
