Ignition / key problem

This is an issue that my Gen 3 is giving me at the minute,

Basically, every now and again the ignition will not turn back to position 1? So the key can be removed, it allows the key to turn to position 2 (killing the engine) but is solid and wont go any further....am i doing something wrong? It just started a few weeks ago and ive ended up either aborting my trip or leaving the key in the truck and locking on the alarm fob.

Then it just releases - with me doing nothing different?

Have just unplugged the smallerblock and so fsr no issues! More importantly as well i have stoppedthat beeping whenthe engine is off and the door opened!

mine does it a lot and all it is
is the gear stick has not released the
the lock all i do is tap the stick
and that sorts it out
try the simple things first
