  • Bolts to Replace Studs?

Hi Everyone, I'm in the process of fitting a new cylinder head. I've just about managed to remove all the studs from the inlet & exhaust manifolds from the old to fit to the new, but 3 of them which connect that heater/coolant pipe & bracket Just won't budge! Could I just fit this coolant pipe onto the new head with just bolts? Maybe stainless? Anyone done this?

Why not just get some new studs ?

Had a similar problem with mine. Have you tried using a couple of nuts jammed together to unscrew the studs? How here

Usually works ok. You need to jam them together real tight before trying to unscrew the stud.

      Good luck

I did try to remove the studs by jamming two nuts together really tight but they still wouldn't move. I've virtually ruined the threads! I did that technique with the exhaust & inlet manifold studs but that worked.

I could get some new studs. Maybe a Toyota dealer? Or company off the internet? Thing is I've got stainless bolts handy ready to fit. What do you think?
