  • Water escaping

I was working on my Surf yesterday with the engine running when I noticed a small amount of water spraying from somewhere near the front of the engine. Couldn't make out where it was coming from so removed the splash tray from underneath to take a closer look.
I seems to be coming from behind the pulley that has the fan and belts attached to it but it's so fine I couldn't say for sure. It's not being blown from the rad by the fan and rad grill doesn't appear to have any holes.
Any idea what the problem might be please ?

    Cheers.

      Its a KZN185 1995 3.0 Turbo diesel Manual SSR.
Yes I guess it might be the water pump, will have to have a closer look I guess.

      Thanks.

Have a look here I took me about 2 hours first time (was doing this very gingerly as there were no spares easily available where i lived then), then about 3/4 of an hour 2nd time round, if i remember right. Just the fan and the belts to take off on the 3.0 but if you can be a bit heavy handed, take the rad off if you think you will damage the fins when removing the v.fan bolts (good excuse to give the cooling system a flush after changing the pump).
