ABS ring on rear half shaft - 3rd gen surf

Can anyone advise on the best way (or any way) to remove the abs ring from the half shaft without damaging it. I know this question has been posed before but the answers don't seem to answer the specific question.

Also does the abs ring and retaining rings need to be removed when the half shaft is pressed out from the bearing hub?
