On my 110k miles 1kzte. I have a bottle of Miller's trident 10w 40, but I'm reading online that 15 40 is the correct oil? There's a left over bottle of 15w 40 in the boot from the prev owner, so of course that's what he's been using

10W 40 15W40 it don't matter which you use.

For years I have used 5W 40, fully synthetic oil (total, castrol, shell helix... whichever was available) at 5000 Km intervals.
It keeps the engine clean and I can fit between 7 and 7.5 L no problem.
High mileage kz te, used hard. Starts first time and no black smoke at all.
I think you can't do better than that for this type of engine.
