Surf bumper swaps?

Has anyone managed to fit a 3rd gen bumper onto a 2nd gen surf? Mine has the usual rusty chrome on all four corners and before I buy a cheap 100 quid replacement it seems to me that they might be interchangeable.

3rd gen is a completely different chassis (from the previous gen landcruiser), so would be very surprised if they swap over without issue, although a bodge may be possible

It won't fit.

The chassis is wider on the 3rd gen.

Thanks for the answers. Without having a 3rd gen to size up it seemed it might be an easy job. Now I know it's a no go.
