Photos can be deceptive sometimes.
More importantly, keep an eye on the hose ends for the next couple of days.
Any weird of unusual gear changes or slipping gears and you had better check the ATF level.
But you have done it which is the main.

Im pretty sure having both in and out hoses on the bottom is not good, normally its recommended to have them at the top, or to mount it sideways so that one of them is up.

I can see your point although, I figure as it's a pumped system it shouldn't matter? The existing rad cooler doesn't have a top/bottom system, and as fitting a cooler can only be making things better than standard.

I think those pipes will get damaged by crap from the road as they look very exposed to me.
Braided pipes would be better here I think.
Just one question, why can't the standard in rad cooler be ditched for a external one to stop the possibility of strawberry milkshake in the tranny should the rad fail?
That's what I was thinking of doing on my 3rd gen.

That's what I was thinking of doing on my 3rd gen.

You can do that no problem, but don't get a cooler that's too big and mount it behind the grille in front of the main radiator.
A 13 or maybe a 15 row cooler is all you need.
If you plan on some heavy towing, a small electric cooling fan mounted in front of the cooler, thermostatically switched, to push air through it as a back-up to the engine fan.

It can. theres the slight risk of overcooling as you dont have any rad heat to put back in on those cold winter days, but I doubt thats a real issue and no issue at all if you use something like a BM supercooler or even install a stat as I did.

I was planning on moving it up a tad for aesthetic reasons, I don't think the pipes likely I get damaged but I guess it's possible.
