Advice on new shock & spring choice

I think mine are just about done; getting hella wobbly.

I am looking for something comfy and quick to damp, not looking for any increase in ride height.

USING THE SEARCH FUNCTION I have seen good things about Procomp shocks - Can anyone confirm what model numbers I would need f&r as the Procomp offerings are in Green Oval specs. I was going to pair these with Roughtrax springs unless someone has a better idea.

Looked at the Bilstein B6s but they are mega-money and wondered if they are worth the price over the Procomps?

Any advice appreciated - I've dug out Si's HOW TO for the rears already.

Hi, both our trucks use yellow Roughtrax springs. These are a bit stiffer and increase the ride height by a noticable amount over worn out standard springs.
One truck uses Monroe shocks from Roughtrax and the other KYB ones from Ebay (advertised as LC Colorado/Prado shocks). I can't tell the difference in ride between the two but both are well controlled. The originals that came off were KYB ones.
You will need very good/strong spring compressors to fit the front springs!

I bought the uprated springs and Rancho dampers from Rough Trax. In my opinion go for standard height and firmness. The uprated don't increase the height, but the ride is terrible unless you are carrying weight all the time.

Thanks for the advice chaps.

I was hoping to get away with just the shocks, but looking at the springs in daylight, they would probably get an advisory for flaking coating. They are not the originals; the truck was well looked-after by Andy on here; but they are at least older than the 3 years I've had it.

RT don't seem to offer any springs that aren't uprated, lift or not. I think the ride is hard as it is. I am probably going to get the local garage to do all 4 corners at once as I can't see me getting a full day to myself anytime soon, just trying to spend less than £1000 with parts and labour!

Bit the bullet on springs, seems everyone is selling uprated. BTW RT were cheaper on ebay than their own website, £89 for a pair of rears and £73 for the fronts, delivered.

Yeah, I have had the RT ones (rear only) on for a year or so and the ride is fine IMO (although I do carry load or passengers most of the time). They also seem to bring the truck back to its original stance - no saggy a**e any more....
