  • Leaking diff backplate

    Hi All,
My KZN130 has a thin rear axle backplate which is weeping. The chances of getting a solid non rotten casing are slim from what im seeing. I have sourced a weld on backplate from the U.S. from Barnes 4x4, but the carriage is as much as the part. Are there any companies in the U.K. that do the same part.
Failing that is there anyone out there with a solid axle casing.
    Cheers for the help.

If you welded the back plate on, would you ever be able to get the diff out?
    Non intercooled nothing.

Hi, these Toyota axles are all front loaders with welded on backplates as standard. I wish they were bolt on ones.

          Bolt On Back Plate

I once read somewhere that a company does a bolt on conversion but you have to cut the rear off with a plasma cutter (unless your good with a grinder) then weld a solid ring in place to bolt the inspection plate to. This is what I am going to try.
