Drive AND Neutral Lights on dash at same time

Not long had the truck and got into it tonight to find that when i put it in drive,

The drive light came on fully as normal

But

The neutral light came on at half brightness.

After a couple of miles it went off.

I will check the gearbox oil level tomorrow. Just realised engine must be running to do this.

Any thoughts?

The shift lever linkage under the floor probably needs adjusting.
Look at the rod that goes from the shift lever arm to the position switch on the transmission and you'll see it has a slot on one end that allows for adjustment.
