When switching on, my rev counter jumps up to 2000rpm and stays there - regardless of what the engine is doing.
Very occasionally it will suddenly appear to be working again, but just as quickly it will jump back to 2000rpm.
Is this likely to be a loose wire or something more sinister?
I wonder about the wire because i sometimes have the speedo drop out totally (or sometimes start bouncing wildly), usually cured by a bump in the road or bashing the steering wheel.
any thoughts?
