  • Rear Diff Noise

    Hi Guys,

Recently changed all the oils in the drive train, and it was all going good, till the rear diff (LSD) began making some less than inspiring noises and felt a bit juddery and notchy when I put a bit of lock on.

Anyone else had an experience like this or any ideas?,
I made sure I used the correct oil for the LSD and have checked the levels and they are still spot on.

    Cheers
    Will

What grade of oil did you put in the diff?

Maybe its actually working now...? lsd's dont operate correctly until oil is to temp and hence right viscosity. go for a good twisty drive and see if it quietens down when hot?

        Hi,
It was Valvoline Durablend GL 5 LS limited slip specific oil, seems better now, topped it up a touch, but still a bit worried,
