  • oil pressure variation

pulling the trailer today for the first time and noticed this minor problem.
as I drove with a fair amount of wait in the back, [on the trailer]
the oil pressure started to vary.
as I cruised down the road, approx' 50mph I noticed the oil pressure had slightly dropped, as i accelerated the pressure started to rise again.
    is this a concern???
or just something the surfs do.
    runs at perfect temp.
    pulls really well.
    starts great
minor oil leak at the rear of the engine, is this part of the problem???
cruises well, 70 all day long.
    confused.... OH YES I AM
I AM NOT THE BEST BUT I AM IN THE TOP 1

Will increase with revs. Sit idling and it will be low, rev it up and pressure goes up, its not surfs, its all engines.
well, that was a bad idea!

      hi muddle

      hi matey
where abouts should it sit then on idle, mines about on the 1/4 mark, sometimes a little lower, 1/2 way when cruising
      IS THAT RIGHT

Yep, give it a rev when at idle and it will rise. Sounds normal to me.
well, that was a bad idea!

oil pressure varies with temp. when cold it will be high, when working hard towing a trailer it will be very hot and have a lower oil pressure.
