  • Battery and water in fuel lights

The water in fuel bowl dash light and charge light are stuck on in my car. They were lighting up intermittently but are now on all the time the truck is running. It seems to be charging and there isn't any water in the fuel filter base. Not sure where to check next.
Is there another water trap anywhere - on the pump perhaps?
    Thanks,
    Mark

Problem sorted. Alternator had shorted out. My local auto-electrician has rebuilt it with decent quality parts for £85. I think this is a better option than a £120 chinese unit.
Still not sure why this should affect the 'water in fuel' light but it seems to have happened before judging from some posts on here in the past.
    Cheers,
    Mark

Very loosely its cos the idiot lights and/or sensors share common negatives, so when the alt or something in the charging/neg returns fails, it lights them all up.
