  • Torque settings for flexplate bolts ?

I need to swap my flexplate fom my old block to new one. Can't find the torque settings for the bolts.

My manual says 178Nm for a manual flywheel, but nothing about the autos.

    Is it the same?

    Thanks,
    Rob.

Can't help directly, but I've got a manual here for the Hi ace transmission (A45DL),The specs for that engine/trans are Torque convertor to drive plate 41 NM(25 FT/lb),and drive plate to crankshaft 64 NM(47 FT/lb).
Failing that have a look at the SS section of the engine repair manual and compare the bolt head pattern to the chart!

    Regards

2.4's to the same auto box are 98NM for the driveplate bolts, and 20NM for the converter to drive plate.

Yep, my manual says 123Nm for the flywheel a 98Nm for a flexplate.

No specs given for the clutch pressure plate though, so 1 grunt with a spot of threadlock should suffice.

        p.s. 178Nm Rob???

p.p.s. It's not advisable to re-use the flywheel bolts by the way.

          Thanks for the answers everybody.

Yep 178Nm in the manual Vince - it's on the attatchment I posted in post #1 . Funnily enough the torque specs in another part of the 1KZ-TE manual states 145Nm for the crankshaft - flywheel bolts

Will get a quote for the bolts but am running out of time - have taken Tuesday off to have a long weekend to get the block back in and the new head on..

          Cheers all,

          Rob.

Blimey, 178 Nm will break the bolts or strip the threads I would have though!
